Exotica from South Africa and Australia: The Palm House at Pillnitz Palace & Park
The Palm House at Pillnitz Palace & Park

The imposing plant display greenhouse was reinaugurated for the 150th anniversary of the Palm House in 2009. Since then, visitors have had the opportunity to admire exotic plants from South Africa, Australia and New Zealand on 660 square meters.
Today’s Palm House includes three sections of warmhouse and coldhouse plants: the south wing with its plants from the Cape of South Africa, the middle hall (Octogon) with its palm tree plants and the north wing with Australian vegetation. The Octogon, complemented by an oval water fountain, is deemed the main room to stay. See here for more information on its history.
